About School Interaction Initiative

While RIT takes every effort to train our students in the Engineering specializations, we also firmly believe in inculcating soft skills, professional ethics and an enduring value system in our diverse student community. We take the onus of responsibility in moulding the enthusiastic school children who step into our campus, into job-ready professionals who can contribute to the Nation’s growth. As the first step to this, we have proposed the School Interaction Initiative to collaborate with schools in Tamil Nadu to work for the betterment of our student community which is the future of our country.

Being a technical Institution, we would like to share our expertise through Guest Lectures, interactive workshops in cutting edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, 3-D Printing and Internet of Things (IoT), as well as through Communication skills/Soft skills workshops and Career Guidance programs. We would be happy to offer tailor-made events and a flexible calendar to accommodate the schools’ rigorous academic schedules.

The Institution

Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology is an integral part of Rajalakshmi Institutions, with 22 years of experience and a national presence in the field of Engineering, Healthcare, Architecture and Management. While RIT takes every effort to shape our students into competent professionals in various fields of Engineering specializations, we also firmly believe in inculcating professional ethics and an enduring value system in the young minds. Currently the institution offers four UG disciplines: Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. RIT constantly works on developing a meaningful connect, both with the Schools and the Industry, in order to nurture well rounded individuals.

Non-Technical Workshops

Non-technical skills (NTS) include both intrapersonal skills such as decision making and interpersonal skills such as teamwork, leadership and communication. RIT SII introduces various workshops to improve these skills in young students.

Communication skills workshop

Communication is one of the most important non-technical skill required for every individual to succeed in their career. Communication is not only about ‘what you speak’, it is also about ‘what you do while you speak’. When you speak, your behaviour will be read unconsciously by your listeners. Our communication skills workshop helps you understand these secrets of communication and also improves your listening and responding skills.

Social Media Etiquette & Ethics

Social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, are changing the way people interact. There are certain accepted behaviours in all social situations that one must learn. In social media, right etiquette means acting the right way. Therefore it is important to know the proper way to engage with social media and to differentiate right from the wrong. We mentor young adolescents on how the right etiquette on social media will inspire pride and respect rather than regret.

Career Guidance Workshops

Still unsure about which course to choose after 12th? Come and explore the different career opportunities available for each of the courses in various fields and choose one according your interests and future needs. Let us help you tap your hidden talents and find the career path that helps you grow professionally and leads you to success.

Technical Workshops

Hands on Training on 3D Printing

The aim of this training on 3D Printing is to make the students to create their own model by using the additive manufacturing technique. 3D Printing training will help the students to understand the practical applications of various concepts in a simplified manner.

Workshop on Robotics

Robotics is the art of making robots, machines that combine concepts from various disciplines. Creating your own robot will help you practically to understand the basic concepts on working of different types of robots. At the end of the Training you will be assisted on creating a project.

Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of Things (IoT) is an ecosystem of connected physical things that are accessible through the internet. A computational IoT nervous system for colleges and schools helps to keep track of major resources, create smarter lesson plans, design secure campuses, enhance information access, and much more.

Internet of Everything (IoE)

The Internet of Everything (IoE) is a concept that extends the Internet of Things (IoT) emphasis on machine-to-machine (M2M) communications to describe a more complex system that also encompasses people and processes. IoE is the intelligent connection of people, process, data and things.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI is the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans. Use of AI to provide learning, testing and feedback to students from pre-K to college level that gives them the challenges they are ready for, identifies gaps in knowledge and redirects to new topics when appropriate. Since the students of today will need to work in a future where AI is the reality, it’s important that our educational institutions expose students to and use the technology.

Python

Python is commonly used as a first text-based language because it’s very readable and you can get things done with less code than many other languages. Python is unique in that it’s easy to understand, even for a beginner. Python doesn’t use a perplexing combination of symbols and abbreviations.

Ethical Hacking

By teaching students how to hack for good, and identify network security threats will prevent criminal hacking attempts. Hacking programs allow students to go beyond the jargon in technical textbooks and see what a career in cyber security might really be like. Teaching hacking skills with ethics and accountability is a great way to catch and keep kids’ attention in a positive manner.
