Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology (RIT) is recognised as one of the best placement colleges in Chennai, with a dedicated training and placement cell that placed 787 of 805 eligible students in 2025-26, a 98% placement rate. Backed by 450+ recruiting companies and a highest package of ₹56 LPA, RIT's placement percentage has stayed above 95% for three consecutive years.
A high placement percentage doesn't happen at the recruitment stage alone. It's built through four years of academics, training and industry exposure, RIT structures all three around one goal: a job offer before graduation.
RIT maintains a consistent pass percentage of around 85% and a similar four-year graduation rate, with a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:13 and a well-stocked library offering 24x7 internet and online journals. Recruiters read consistent academics as a proxy for consistent hiring outcomes.
Students go through skill-oriented training programs run in partnership with TCS, Wipro, Zoho, ICT Academy, BOSCH and MSME, alongside guest lectures, industrial visits and internships built into the curriculum.
Soft skills and employability training run as dedicated camps rather than one-off sessions, so communication, group discussion and interview readiness are practised repeatedly before final placements begin.
Professional clubs, seminars and company-sponsored projects (including with organisations like NEC and Systech) give students national-level competition exposure and real project experience recruiters look for.
The RIT Training and Placement Cell exists to give students personal and career-related support, with special emphasis on employability skills, not just interview scheduling. It works across academics, alumni networks and recruiters year-round, not only during the placement season.
What the cell actually does, in practice:
Head, Placement & Training
Every RIT student goes through a structured training track well before their first campus interview.
Confidence, workplace etiquette and professional presence.
Spoken and written English built for interviews and workplace use.
Resume structuring and professional email etiquette.
Timed GD rounds modelled on actual recruiter formats.
HR and technical mock interviews with structured feedback.
Quantitative, logical and verbal aptitude practice tests.
Japanese and German language training for global-facing roles.
A flagship in-campus residential bootcamp before major recruitment drives.
