"YUVA SANTA and HAND HYGIENE Awareness Programme”

NSS club and Yuva Club of RIT has arranged an offline donation camp in our college premise in celebration towards Christmas under the title “YUVA SANTA". We encouraged all students and faculties to contribute products such as clothes/provision/school items/stationary/etc and we have received nearly 500 items. We had distributed all collected items to “New Hope and New Life Trust" orphanage center in Perumbakkam, chennaion 21.12.21 with 28 volunteers. The Green initiative and climate change vertical has organized this event. Further in addition to this event we had conducted “HAND HYGIENE" for the school students to inculcate the habit of hand washing by our volunteers.


Awareness Programme on Plastic waste and Anti Littering Pledge

NSS unit of RIT has conducted an awareness programme on plastic waste and took anti-littering pledge in college campus on 16.12.2021 from 9.00am to 11.00am. Around 50 students were involved in this event. Plastic pollution is today one of the most serious environmental problems affecting the environment and oceans. Once in the natural environment, plastic can take up to 500 years to disappear and impacts wildlife on a daily basis. The United Nations reports that half of all plastic produced is designed for single use, and only 9% of plastic waste has ever been recycled. NSS programme officer briefly explained about the plastic pollution and after the session all the students were taken anti littering pledge in order keep our society clean.


Road Rally Awareness Programme on World Water Day –2022

The NSS unit of Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology Chennai organized an awareness road rally programme on world water day event on 26th March 2022 at Kuthambakkam village. During the event the UBA volunteers with our NSS volunteers addressed the people about the importance and necessity of World water day 2022 theme Ground water making the invisible, water scarcity, Importance of rainwater harvesting among the people.


Mega Blood Donation Camp at RIT- Gift Few Drops

The RIT- NSS Club and YRC Club coordinate with Annai Teresa Blood Bank and Apheresis has orgnized Blood donation camp in our college premise under the title of “Gift Few Drops” on 09/04/2022. Dr.P.K.Nagarajan, The Principal, Rajalakshmi Institute of Technolgy, Chennai inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp. We encouraged all students and faculties to contribute the blood donation camp. During the camp 101 students and Staff members were donate their blood. The donated blood is collected by Annai Teresa Blood Bank and Apheresis Centre. Those are donated blood certificate were provided by Annai Teresa Blood Bank and Apheresis Centre. RIT NSS club and YRC club Student Coordinators helps to conduct the event in smooth manner.




“Back to the Days !!”- Heritage Day and bringing artistic talent from school students

The RIT- NSS and UBA Clubs are combined has planned the school event in the name of “BACK TO THE DAYS” at Panchayath Union Middle School, Maypoor Thandal Village on 30/04/2022 at 8.30 AM to 1.00 PM. During the event our NSS and UBA club members conducted about Heritage Day and bringing artistic talent from school students. Our club members conducted varies activities and events to the school students. The events are Drawing, Singing, and Dancing etc. Around 150 school students involved the different activities and events. Our NSS students distributed the prizes those are won the activities. Finally, NSS members of RIT conducted tree planting in school ground and gave notes about the importance environment and tree planting. RIT NSS club Coordinators helps to conduct the event in smooth manner. RIT-NSS heartful thanks to The Vice Chairperson, The Principal and Hod,s of RIT give the support and permission to conduct the event. RIT-NSS thanks to Headmistress and teachers, Panchayath Union Middle School, Maypoor Thandal Village gave the full support to conduct the event in smooth manner.





“Road Safety Rally and Saplings Distribution”

The RIT- NSS and YRC Clubs are combined has planned Road safety rally and saplings distribution with green voice international organization and Traffic Police Chennai at Mylapore on 07/May/2022 at 8.30 am to 12.30 am. During this, Shri. Dr. Sam Benett, Inspector of Police-Traffic, Greater Chennai discussed to our NSS and YRC club members in the title of Road safety and traffic awareness. RIT NSS and YRC volunteers making the road safety and traffic awareness programme to the people. The awareness rally programme starts from Mylapore Kutchery Road signal to Santhome church signal Chennai. RIT-NSS heartful thanks to The Vice Chairman, The Principal and Hod,s of RIT give the support and permission to conduct the event. RIT-NSS thanks to Dr. Sam Benett, Inspector of Police-Traffic and Green voice international chennai gave the full support to conduct the event in smooth manner.
